Event Management

Event management is not just about organizing a program; it is about leading a team, managing challenges, and turning ideas into successful experiences through dedication, planning, and teamwork.

Machine learning

Machine learning with Python involves using libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch to build models that learn from data and make predictions or decisions automatically.

Automation

Automation is the use of technology and control systems to perform tasks with minimal human intervention. It improves efficiency, accuracy, productivity, and safety in industries, businesses, and everyday life. From industrial machines to smart systems, automation helps reduce manual effort and saves valuable time.

Leadership

Leadership is not about holding a position or giving orders. It is about taking responsibility, inspiring others, and making decisions with confidence and integrity. A true leader leads by example, stays calm under pressure, and motivates people to work together toward a common goal.

AutoCad

AutoCAD design combines creativity and technical precision, enabling engineers and designers to transform concepts into accurate, efficient, and professional digital solutions.

Microsoft Office

Microsoft Office is a suite of productivity software that includes applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, widely used for creating documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and managing emails in both personal and professional environments.

  • Star Delta starter of an Induction Motor

Star–Delta starting is a common method used to start a three-phase induction motor while reducing the high starting current. It is mainly used for medium and large motors.

    1. Basic Idea

When an induction motor starts directly from the line (DOL), it draws a very large current (about 5–7 times the rated current). This can cause:

    • Voltage drop in the supply line

    • Overheating of windings

    • Stress on electrical equipment

To avoid this, the Star–Delta starter first connects the motor windings in star (Y) during starting and later switches to delta (Δ) for normal operation.

    2. Working Principle

Step 1: Starting in Star Connection

    • The three stator windings are connected in star (Y).

    • Each phase receives VL/3V_L / \sqrt{3}voltage instead of full line voltage.

    • Because the voltage is lower:

      • Starting current reduces to about one-third

      • Starting torque reduces to about one-third

Step 2: Running in Delta Connection

    • After the motor reaches about 80–90% of rated speed, the starter switches the winding connection from star to delta.

    • In delta connection, each winding receives full line voltage.

    • The motor then operates at rated torque and power.

    3. Components of a Star–Delta Starter

    A typical starter consists of:

    • Main Contactor (KM1) – connects motor to supply

    • Star Contactor (KM2) – forms star connection during starting

    • Delta Contactor (KM3) – forms delta connection during running

    • Timer – controls transition time from star to delta

    • Overload Relay – protects motor from excessive current

  • Forward and Reverse Connection of Motor with protection

Forward and reverse connection of a motor refers to the method of controlling its direction of rotation. In the case of a three-phase induction motor, the forward connection is achieved by supplying the motor with the normal phase sequence (L1-L2-L3), which makes the motor rotate in its default direction. To reverse the rotation, any two of the supply lines are interchanged, which changes the phase sequence and causes the motor to spin in the opposite direction. This process is commonly implemented using a forward and reverse starter, which employs two contactors—one for forward and one for reverse operation—along with electrical or mechanical interlocking to prevent both contactors from being energized simultaneously, thereby avoiding short circuits.

In both AC and DC motors, forward and reverse connections are essential in applications where bidirectional motion is required, such as conveyors, elevators, cranes, and machine tools. However, safety precautions must always be observed, including the use of overload protection and proper interlocking systems, to prevent damage to the motor or electrical hazards during operation.
